Evil Inspiration (Artist Spotlight)

Sometime early this year, I stumbled upon an incredible artist named Evil Inspiration. To describe him would be someone who is a master of their craft. Evil specialises in fantasy art and character portraits. It’s been a long time since I last saw an artist and said to myself “wow, that’s the type of art and style I want to create”.

Evil’s style is semi-realism that leans more towards realism. He has great mastery over values and colour that is second to none. By observing his works, I have noticed he puts most of his effort on the faces of characters, followed by the rest of their bodies. The backgrounds are often simple with textured brush effects emulating traditional paintings. From the information I have gathered, Evil uses 3D models as references to help with his art.

Evil also works on his own horror/ mystery comic called “Faceless Man”, which is currently being rebooted. It’s about a girl called Anna Lord, who wakes up without memories and is somehow connected to a killer named “Faceless”. Go check it out online if you have the chance.
